The Role: Secondary Art Teacher
As a Secondary Art Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Art and Design lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
- Develop creative teaching strategies that encourage students to express themselves through various artistic mediums.
- Guide students in building strong portfolios for GCSE and A-Level Art assessments.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that nurtures creativity, confidence, and independent thinking.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects that integrate art with other subjects.
- Encourage student participation in exhibitions, competitions, and creative initiatives.
- Engage actively in extracurricular activities and community-based events to enhance student experiences.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A B.Ed or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Art and Design in a British curriculum school.
- The ability to inspire students and share exemplary teaching practices with colleagues.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to lesson planning and classroom activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- A track record of delivering high-quality teaching and promoting outstanding student outcomes.
- A willingness to contribute to the school community through participation in extracurricular programs and community events.
