Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
The English teacher will deliver engaging instruction in literature, composition, and critical reading. This role requires creativity, collaboration, and the ability to guide students in developing strong written and verbal communication skills aligned with IB learning objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with IB MYP and DP curricula
- Encourage student inquiry, creativity, and independent thinking
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom culture
- Use formative and summative assessments to support student growth
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum planning
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the school community
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of secondary-level English teaching experience
- Experience with IB or international curricula preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital tools
- Passion for teaching in an international school environment
