Role: Secondary Media Teacher

We are seeking a motivated and creative Media Teacher to deliver an engaging curriculum that equips students with the skills needed for success in media and digital communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Media Studies at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (IGCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level/IB Diploma Programme).
• Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that develop students’ understanding of media theory, production techniques, and digital storytelling.
• Introduce students to media ethics, advertising, journalism, film production, and digital content creation.
• Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level Media Studies examinations, ensuring high achievement levels.
• Utilize industry-standard tools and software to teach video editing, graphic design, and digital media production.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity.
• Stay updated with media trends and technological advancements to enhance the curriculum.
• Engage in extracurricular activities, media clubs, and school-wide events.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Communications, Film Studies, or a related field.
• PGCE with QTS or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification (UK preferred).
• Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Media Studies at the secondary level.
• Proven track record of student success in IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Media Studies.
• Strong knowledge of media production, journalism, digital marketing, and film studies.
• Ability to provide an ICPC and a UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
• Professional conduct, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student-centered learning.
• Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and media-related school initiatives.
