Role: Teacher of EAL (English as an Additional Language)

As a Teacher of EAL at GEMS FirstPoint School, you will:

• Deliver engaging and effective EAL lessons to support students in developing their English language skills.
• Design and implement tailored learning strategies to meet the unique needs of EAL learners.
• Prepare students for assessments such as IELTS Academic, ESL, and EAL IGCSE exams.
• Use creative teaching techniques to foster language development, critical thinking, and academic success.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide additional language support across the curriculum.
• Maintain open communication with parents, ensuring they stay informed about their child’s progress.
• Actively contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and community programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Successful candidates must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
• A relevant MA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a PGCE with an EAL specialization (preferred).
• At least two years of experience teaching EAL/English language learners in an academic setting.
• Proven expertise in preparing students for IELTS Academic, ESL, and EAL IGCSE assessments.
• Experience in a British curriculum school is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a student-focused teaching approach.
