Role Overview
The High School Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for teaching Chemistry across upper secondary levels, particularly IGCSE and IB Diploma. The role involves creating engaging and inquiry-based lessons, guiding students through laboratory work, and preparing them for examinations and future academic success. Beyond the classroom, the teacher will contribute to curriculum enrichment, interdisciplinary projects, and extracurricular science activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Chemistry at IGCSE and IB Diploma levels.
- Design inquiry-driven lessons that inspire curiosity and independent learning.
- Lead laboratory experiments and promote safe, hands-on science practices.
- Integrate digital tools and modern technology to enhance learning outcomes.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary initiatives.
- Support student participation in science clubs, competitions, and extended projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, preferably in international schools.
- Strong knowledge of IGCSE and IB Chemistry curricula.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, multicultural community.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
