Role Overview: High School Drama Teacher
As a High School Drama Teacher, you will lead engaging, practical drama instruction aligned with the British curriculum, including IGCSE and A-Level Theatre. Your lessons will inspire students to explore creativity, develop self-expression, and collaborate through scripted and devised performances. You will also support the broader Performing Arts program through school productions and festivals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inspiring drama lessons across upper secondary levels
- Guide students through IGCSE and A-Level Theatre performance and coursework
- Direct school plays, drama clubs, and inter-house productions
- Foster critical thinking, ensemble work, and performance confidence
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts department
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and monitor progress
- Participate actively in school life, events, and professional growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, or a related field
- Teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching secondary drama
- Experience with IGCSE/A-Level or similar international curricula
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiastic about creative education and student-centered learning
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Comfortable using digital tools in teaching and production
