Role Overview
The IBDP Business & Economics Teacher will play a key role in guiding students through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This position involves teaching both Business Management and Economics, helping students build analytical skills, develop an understanding of global markets, and explore the ethical and social dimensions of business.
The successful candidate will design engaging lessons, prepare students for internal and external assessments, and contribute to the development of a strong academic program. Beyond classroom teaching, you will support extracurricular activities, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a positive school culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Business Management and Economics in the IB Diploma Programme
- Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB standards
- Guide students through research, case studies, and real-world applications
- Prepare students for IBDP assessments and examinations
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and academic excellence
- Integrate technology to enhance learning and research skills
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to support student success
- Participate in school events, professional development, and wider initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Business or Economics
- Familiarity with international curricula; IB DP experience is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English proficiency
- Ability to inspire students and work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and lifelong learning
- Independent, proactive, and collaborative teaching style
