Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the crucial role of Kindergarten Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard, play-based lessons across all early years learning domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality, developmentally appropriate lessons for Kindergarten students. Align instruction strictly with the school’s integrated curriculum model, incorporating ECE best practices.
- Develop and execute strategies that promote literacy and numeracy readiness through purposeful play, inquiry, and hands-on activities.
- Assess student development consistently using formative and observational methods. Provide constructive, detailed feedback and comprehensive progress reports to parents.
- Integrate Christian values and biblical worldview into teaching content and classroom practices, fostering strong character development.
- Maintain a safe, highly organized, and positive learning environment conducive to active exploration and social skill development.
- Collaborate effectively with early years colleagues and primary leadership to ensure curriculum continuity and support student welfare.
- Actively participate in professional development sessions and proactively contribute to curriculum enrichment and wider school initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, communicating clearly about curriculum goals and child success.
Qualifications
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a closely related field.
- Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, US State Certification, or equivalent) specifically for Early Years/Primary teaching.
- Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Kindergarten or Early Years Teacher, ideally within an international school setting.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of international Early Years curricula and best practices in play-based learning.
- Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication skills.
- Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
