Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Primary Homeroom Teacher (Class Teacher). This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction across multiple core subjects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous lessons across the core primary curriculum and IPC themes for your assigned homeroom class. Align instruction strictly with the English National Curriculum and IPC requirements and SCIPS’s learning standards.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote high standards in English and Maths, utilizing practical and engaging teaching methodologies.
• Provide comprehensive pastoral care, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of every student in your class, utilizing the Jigsaw PSHE program.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools relevant to the British curriculum. Maintain accurate records and track individual progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress, well-being, and school events, fostering a strong home-school partnership.
• Collaborate consistently with year group colleagues and the Head of Primary on curriculum development, moderation, resource management, and school initiatives.
• Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional classroom environment conducive to active, student-led learning.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives.
• Ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Primary Education, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Primary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Primary/Elementary students, with significant, verified experience teaching the English National Curriculum (Key Stage 1 or 2) and/or the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of UK Primary subject content and holistic development frameworks.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
