Role Overview: Secondary Humanities Teacher

As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will teach subjects such as History, Geography, or Global Perspectives to students in lower and upper secondary levels. Your role involves delivering concept-based lessons that foster critical thinking, research skills, and global awareness. You will guide students through inquiry-driven learning and help them connect academic content to real-world issues and contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach IGCSE-aligned Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, or Social Studies
• Plan and implement engaging lessons using active and inquiry-based strategies
• Encourage debate, discussion, and independent research among students
• Assess student performance through formative and summative assessments
• Integrate technology and multimedia to enhance the learning experience
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary projects
• Contribute to co-curricular activities, school events, and student enrichment programs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably within the IGCSE curriculum
• Excellent knowledge of Humanities content and pedagogy
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
• Enthusiastic about working in a multicultural, values-based school setting
• Proficient with technology and committed to continuous professional growth
