Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior School Physics Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard secondary science instruction. You will lead students through the complexities of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, and quantum physics, ensuring they achieve top academic results in their IGCSE and A Level examinations. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Senior School Physics lessons that align fully with the British National Curriculum and IGCSE/A Level standards.
• Develop and execute engaging laboratory experiments that promote the scientific method, data analysis, and technical report writing.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools to track progress and provide personalized interventions for every learner.
• Collaborate consistently with science department colleagues and school leadership on curriculum mapping, resource development, and interdisciplinary STEAM initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and highly organized learning environment that encourages students to explore mathematical theories and physical laws.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships, providing timely updates on student progress and holistic development.
• Utilize new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the laboratory.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum and develop wider school initiatives, such as leading robotics clubs, physics Olympiad preparation, or engineering projects.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary or Senior School teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the position, with significant experience in the British curriculum and IGCSE/A Level frameworks being highly preferred.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the Physics subject area and effective pedagogical strategies for secondary learners.
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
