Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary Physics Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver a rigorous physics curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England. You will lead a vibrant learning environment where students develop deep conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry skills, and practical laboratory proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality Physics lessons that align with the British National Curriculum and specific exam board requirements.
• Develop and execute instructional units that promote hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and scientific investigation.
• Cultivate a positive classroom and laboratory culture that celebrates inquiry and supports a growth mindset.
• Assess student progress consistently using diverse formative and summative tools to track growth and provide personalized feedback.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that strictly follows health and safety protocols for laboratory work.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues to ensure vertical alignment and a cohesive science program across all secondary year groups.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student academic achievement and well-being.
• Utilize new technologies, such as data loggers, digital simulations, and interactive whiteboards, to enhance instruction.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as science fairs, STEM clubs, or physics competitions.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-led training and international science education workshops.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or a related field of secondary science education.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for secondary science.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a secondary Physics teaching position.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with the National Curriculum for England, IGCSE, and A-Level frameworks.
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent laboratory management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
