Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Female PE Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver high-standard physical activity programs for students across various grade levels. You will lead a dynamic learning environment, primarily delivering a curriculum aligned with California Physical Education Model Content Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, engaging PE lessons that align fully with California State standards and APU learning goals.
• Develop and execute a broad and balanced physical education curriculum including athletics, team sports, gymnastics, and fitness training.
• Assess student progress consistently using skill-based rubrics and fitness testing to track individual motor development and health growth.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages female students to take risks and develop physical confidence.
• Collaborate consistently with colleagues and leadership to refine curriculum delivery and share innovative teaching strategies.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student physical achievement and well-being.
• Utilize new technologies, such as fitness trackers, instructional videos, and digital assessment tools, to enhance the quality of teaching.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as Sports Days, inter-school tournaments, and after-school sports clubs.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and international workshops on physical education.
• Build strong relationships with all members of the school community to foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for PE.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a PE teaching position, preferably within an international school.
• Subject Knowledge: Show strong knowledge of California PE standards and fundamental motor skill development.
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom and field management alongside superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community and developing wider school initiatives.
