Role Overview: High School History Teacher
As a History Teacher, you will deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons that help students critically explore historical themes and global perspectives. You will play a vital role in preparing students for IGCSE and A-Level history while fostering their curiosity, analytical thinking, and appreciation for the past.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality history lessons based on the British curriculum
- Encourage independent research, debate, and interpretation of historical events
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities Department on interdisciplinary initiatives
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff members
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History or a related subject
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Familiarity with IGCSE and A-Level history preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for history and international education
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Proactive, self-driven, and collaborative in approach
