Role Overview: IBDP Biology Teacher
As an IB Diploma Programme Biology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, concept-based lessons aligned with the IB DP framework. You will support students in mastering biological principles, preparing them for academic excellence and university-level science studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive DP Biology lessons using IB methodology
- Foster inquiry, experimentation, and scientific reasoning through labs and projects
- Guide students in Internal Assessment (IA) and Extended Essay work
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Participate actively in school-wide events, clubs, and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related discipline
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Biology, ideally within the IB framework
- Solid understanding of the IB Diploma Programme and assessment criteria
- Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Passion for fostering academic curiosity and international-mindedness
