Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Kindergarten English Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver an engaging early years English language program. You will lead a dynamic classroom environment, delivering a curriculum that aligns with American standards and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework to prepare students for academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, engaging English lessons that align fully with American early childhood standards and the IB PYP framework.
• Develop and execute instructional units that promote inquiry-based learning and the practical application of early literacy skills.
• Assess student progress consistently using observations and formative tools to track developmental milestones and provide personalized feedback.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children to investigate the world around them with confidence.
• Collaborate consistently with grade-level colleagues and Arabic department partners to ensure a cohesive bilingual experience for all students.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student achievement and well-being.
• Utilize new technologies, such as interactive learning displays and educational software, to enhance the quality of instruction for young learners.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as seasonal performances, literacy weeks, or community events.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and international workshops on early years pedagogy.
• Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to support the holistic growth of the IKNS community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for early years education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Kindergarten or Preschool teaching position.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with international curricula, specifically the American system or the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community and developing wider school initiatives.
