It integrates technology through a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for middle and high school students.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Middle School Information Technology (IT) Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver a rigorous computer science and IT curriculum based on American standards. You will lead a dynamic learning environment where students develop technical proficiency, computational thinking, and digital citizenship in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality IT and computer science lessons that align with American curriculum standards and school learning objectives.
- Develop and execute instructional units that promote inquiry-based learning and hands-on project development.
- Manage the classroom effectively by leveraging the school’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program to facilitate real-time learning and collaborative digital projects.
- Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools to track growth and provide personalized feedback for academic improvement.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating digital learning environment that encourages students to experiment and innovate with new software and hardware.
- Collaborate consistently with department colleagues to ensure vertical alignment and a cohesive IT program throughout the middle school levels.
- Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student academic achievement and technical skills.
- Utilize new technologies, such as cloud-based productivity suites, visual programming languages, and robotics, to enhance the quality of teaching.
- Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as coding clubs, digital art competitions, or tech-innovation fairs.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-led training and international educational technology workshops.
Qualification
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of technology education.
- Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for secondary or middle school IT.
- Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a middle school IT teaching position.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with American IT standards and international educational technology practices.
- Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
- Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
- Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies and BYOD strategies to enhance learning for all students.
- Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community and developing wider school initiatives.
