Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior School Computer Applications Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Senior School Computer Applications units. Align instruction strictly with the dual curriculum requirements (ICSE/ISC and Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level) and DPSIS’s academic standards.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote advanced conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, effective programming techniques, and strong examination technique essential for success in external assessments.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools aligned with the dual curriculum frameworks. Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues and the Senior School Head on curriculum mapping, resource development, and student progress monitoring.
• Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional computing laboratory environment, ensuring the effective management and security of IT resources.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives, such as leading a coding club, digital innovation group, or robotics ECA.
• Ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Software Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary/Senior teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Senior School Computer Applications/Science, with significant, verified experience teaching either the ICSE/ISC or Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level curriculum being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of advanced Computer Science syllabi and the ability to work within a dual curriculum framework.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom/lab management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
