Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary IT/Robotics Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard lessons in IT, Computer Science, and Robotics. You will teach diverse courses, including Middle School Digital Design/IT, and academic courses such as IB DP Computer Science and/or Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level Computer Science.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous IT, Computer Science, and Robotics units across the Middle and High School. Align instruction strictly with the specific IB and Cambridge syllabi and examination/assessment requirements.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote advanced coding skills (e.g., Python, Java, C++), logical problem-solving, hardware/software integration, and effective project management, including design documentation and testing.
• Assess student work consistently using IB/Cambridge criteria and school standards, focusing on theoretical understanding, practical programming ability, and portfolio development. Provide constructive, detailed feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with Secondary colleagues on curriculum articulation, moderation, resource development, and student progress monitoring.
• Maintain a safe, highly organized, and positive teaching environment (computer labs, robotics studio).
• Actively participate in professional development sessions and proactively contribute to curriculum enrichment, leading Robotics clubs, coding competitions, and STEM initiatives.
• Use new technologies and specialized hardware/software appropriately and creatively to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Secondary Education (Technology focus), or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Secondary IT/Computer Science, ideally within an IB and/or Cambridge international school setting. Specific, verified experience teaching IB DP Computer Science or Cambridge A-Level Computer Science/IT is highly desirable.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the IB DP and/or Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level IT/Computer Science syllabi, assessment criteria, and current Robotics/Coding pedagogy.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom/lab management and superb communication skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
