Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary Mathematics Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver high-standard physical education across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will lead a dynamic learning environment, primarily delivering the Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A-Level Physical Education programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, engaging PE lessons that align fully with the Cambridge Secondary, IGCSE, and A-Level specifications.
• Develop and execute instructional units that promote tactical awareness, sportsmanship, and the practical application of athletic theories.
• Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools to track physical development and provide personalized feedback for examination preparation.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to investigate real-world health challenges and performance data.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues to refine curriculum delivery and share innovative coaching strategies across the secondary school.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student participation and athletic achievement.
• Utilize new technologies, such as performance analysis apps, heart-rate monitors, and digital portfolios, to enhance the quality of coaching.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as inter-school sports competitions (SISAC), swim galas, or leadership programs.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and international Cambridge coaching workshops.
• Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to support the holistic growth of the VAS community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for secondary education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a secondary PE teacher position or a similar role.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong knowledge of international curricula, specifically the Cambridge International program (IGCSE/A-Level).
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom and field management alongside superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community.
