Role Overview: Elementary Homeroom Teacher
As an Elementary Homeroom Teacher, you will create a dynamic, inquiry-driven classroom environment for students in Grades 1–6. You will teach core subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, while fostering essential life skills and a growth mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress
- Build strong relationships with students and parents to support learning goals
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to enhance curriculum delivery
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional learning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., Alberta Teaching Certificate, QTS, PGCE)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international or bilingual setting
- Familiarity with international or Canadian curricula preferred
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proficient in integrating technology to support student learning
