Role: High School ELA Teacher

The High School ELA Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that helps students master literary analysis, writing techniques, vocabulary, and communication skills. The role supports students’ academic growth while fostering creativity, empathy, and critical thought.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts to high school students using a U.S. standards-aligned curriculum
• Create lesson plans that integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Design formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning
• Promote critical thinking and literary appreciation through diverse texts and genres
• Integrate educational technology to enhance instruction and student engagement
• Provide feedback that supports student progress and growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum across departments
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and extracurricular activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent U.S. license)
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or U.S.-curriculum school
• Strong knowledge of secondary-level ELA content and pedagogy
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• High proficiency in written and spoken English
• A collaborative, growth-minded teaching approach
• Ability to contribute to curriculum enrichment and whole-school initiatives
