Position Overview: IB MYP English Teacher
The school seeks a qualified English teacher with experience in the IB MYP curriculum. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English Language and Literature instruction, foster inquiry-based learning, and inspire students to develop strong communication and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach MYP English Language and Literature to middle school students
- Design and implement lessons aligned with IB MYP standards
- Promote literacy, academic writing, and media analysis skills
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and assessments
- Support student well-being through advisory responsibilities
- Participate in school events, clubs, and extracurricular programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of English teaching experience, ideally in an IB school
- Solid understanding of IB philosophy and MYP framework
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to engage students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proficient in using educational technology in the classroom
