Role Overview: Lower Secondary English Teacher

As a Lower Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons to students in Years 7 to 9. Your teaching will foster literacy, analytical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for language and literature. You will also help students prepare for Cambridge Checkpoint assessments and ensure a strong foundation for future IGCSE English success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary English curriculum
• Promote reading comprehension, writing fluency, and spoken English through interactive, student-centered strategies
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum integration and instructional quality
• Support school events, co-curricular activities, and wider community engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years of English teaching experience at the lower secondary level
• Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum or other international programmes
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
