Role Overview
The Western Music Teacher will take a leading role in developing students’ musical abilities and appreciation for music performance and theory. The selected educator will teach engaging lessons, conduct instrumental and vocal training, and guide students toward artistic excellence. Supporting school events, music ensembles, and performances will form a key part of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Western Music to students across grade levels
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and assessments
- Direct individual and group instrumental or vocal sessions
- Contribute to school choirs, bands, and musical productions
- Collaborate with faculty on creative and cross-curricular initiatives
- Promote a positive learning environment that nurtures student talent
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related discipline
- Teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching music
- Understanding of international curricula such as IB or similar
- Strong communication and classroom leadership skills
- Passion for developing young musicians in a culturally diverse school
- Proactive mindset and dedication to professional growth
- Ability to use modern music technology to enhance learning
