Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver a play-based yet structured curriculum. You will lead a dynamic classroom environment, primarily delivering a program that aligns with the California Common Core Standards for the Pre-school and Kindergarten phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, engaging lessons that align fully with the California Common Core Standards and Britus standards.
• Develop and execute instructional units that promote inquiry-based learning and the practical application of early childhood development theories.
• Assess student progress consistently using formative tools and observations to track developmental milestones and provide personalized feedback.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children to investigate the world around them.
• Collaborate consistently with grade-level colleagues to refine curriculum delivery and share innovative early years teaching strategies.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student achievement and well-being.
• Utilize new technologies, such as interactive learning displays and educational software, to enhance the quality of instruction.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as seasonal performances, themed learning days, or community events.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and international professional development workshops.
• Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to support the holistic growth of the Britus community.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for early years or kindergarten education.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Kindergarten homeroom position or a similar role.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with international curricula, specifically the California Standards or similar North American frameworks.
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community and developing wider school initiatives.
