Role Overview
As a PYP/MYP French Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students develop language proficiency, intercultural understanding, and a love for learning French. You will design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB curriculum, focusing on communication, cultural appreciation, and real-world application. The role requires creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to fostering linguistic and cultural fluency in an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality French lessons aligned with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks
- Promote inquiry-based learning and student-centered teaching strategies
- Design creative assessments that measure both language proficiency and cultural understanding
- Encourage students to explore the French language through conversation, media, and cultural projects
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Provide timely feedback and maintain clear communication with students and parents
- Participate actively in professional development and contribute to the school’s academic goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an international or IB school setting
- Strong knowledge of the IB PYP and MYP French curriculum
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for language teaching and cultural exchange
- Proficiency in both French and English
