Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Business and Economics Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard lessons across both subjects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Business Studies and Economics units across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Align instruction strictly with the Cambridge International syllabi requirements and MISKL’s academic standards.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote advanced commercial awareness, sophisticated case study analysis, data interpretation, critical evaluation, and strong examination technique essential for success in IGCSE and A-Level assessments.
• Integrate real-world examples, current policy issues, and business news into teaching to demonstrate the practical application of theory.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools, strictly aligned with Cambridge examination requirements and marking schemes. Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues and the Head of Secondary on curriculum planning, moderation, resource development, and student progress monitoring.
• Actively participate in professional development sessions and proactively contribute to curriculum enrichment and wider school initiatives.
• Use new technologies and diverse learning resources to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Studies, Secondary Education (Social Sciences focus), or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Secondary Business Studies and Economics, with significant, verified experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Business and Economics syllabi being mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the Cambridge International IGCSE and A-Level Business and Economics syllabi and their assessment requirements.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
