About The Western Australian International School System
The Western Australian International School System (WASS) is a private educational institution in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, providing a multicultural learning environment for students from Kindergarten through Year 12. Established in 2010, it is one of only two schools in Vietnam officially licensed by the Western Australian Department of Education. High school students (Years 11–12) can pursue the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), or the American Diploma Pathway (ADP).
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary Business Management Teacher. This position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver high-standard business instruction across various secondary levels. You will lead a dynamic learning environment, primarily delivering the Western Australian curriculum, while preparing students for the WACE, IBDP, or ADP graduation pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality, engaging Business Management lessons that align fully with Western Australian Department of Education standards and IB requirements.
- Develop and execute instructional units that promote inquiry-based learning and the practical application of business theories to real-world case studies.
- Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools to track academic growth and provide personalized feedback for various diploma pathways.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to investigate global market trends and entrepreneurial challenges.
- Collaborate consistently with department colleagues to refine curriculum delivery and share innovative teaching strategies across the secondary school.
- Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships and provide regular updates on student academic achievement and well-being.
- Utilize new technologies, such as financial modeling software, digital simulations, and the school’s Learning Management System, to enhance instruction.
- Proactively enrich the curriculum by leading wider school initiatives, such as entrepreneurship clubs, investment competitions, or business networking events.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth by participating in school-wide training and authorized WACE or IB professional development workshops.
- Build strong relationships with students and colleagues to support the holistic growth of the WASS community.
Qualification
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field of education.
- Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) for secondary education.
- Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a secondary Business teaching position or a similar role.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong familiarity with international curricula, specifically the Western Australian Curriculum or the IB Diploma Programme.
- Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
- Language Proficiency: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
- Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
- Personal Attributes: Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the school community.
