Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secondary ICT Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard lessons across various secondary levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous ICT/Computer Science units across Key Stage 3 and IGCSE. Align instruction strictly with the IGCSE and KSSM syllabi requirements and the school’s holistic academic standards.
• Develop and execute strategies that promote advanced digital literacy, computational thinking, practical application skills.
• Lead practical sessions in computer laboratories, ensuring effective utilization of technology to enhance learning and adherence to digital safety policies.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools, strictly aligned with IGCSE and KSSM requirements. Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate consistently with department colleagues and the Head of Secondary on curriculum planning, moderation, resource development, and student progress monitoring.
• Actively participate in professional development sessions and proactively contribute to enriching the Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) program.
• Use new technologies and diverse learning resources to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Secondary Education (ICT/Computing focus), or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Secondary ICT/Computer Science, with significant, verified experience teaching IGCSE ICT/Computer Science being mandatory. Familiarity with the Malaysian KSSM curriculum is highly valued.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE ICT/Computer Science syllabi and their assessment requirements.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
